Footnotes were lettered, beginning with ‘a’, on each page. Theyhave been numerically resequenced for uniqueness and moved to followthe Book in which they are referenced.

All marginal notes will appear prior to the paragraph they annotated as, prefixedwith ‘Sidenote:’

The table of contents includes references in Book III to sections printedin the text as marginal notes. Each has been linked, including those thathave no explicit page number, appearing as ‘——’, which serves as a ditto.

The Index serves for both Volume I and II. References to Volume Iare underlined, and will open a separate browser.Your e-reader may not follow those links.

There was an Errata included in the text. The corrections listed therewere made.
