It must be borne in mind that this bookdeals with principles and examples of methodsof warfare, and not fixed rules. There are nofixed methods in warfare. Development inwarfare means change of methods or theinvention of new ones to overcome militarydifficulties. However, one must have knowledgeof past and present methods to be readyfor the next logical step of development.
