Windows are so much a part of thebackground that the fabric chosen,its texture, color and line, and thedesign of the curtains, draperiesand slip covers must be in keepingwith the atmosphere of the roomand contribute to the over-all effect.
For the very formal treatment,you’ll want to choose something inthe Damask designs, taffetas, moires,brocades, satins, brocatelles orthe many blends of the pure andman-made fibers, some with metallicthreads woven in. Fringes andtassels are used as trims, and thewindow treatment would includedraped valances, swags, cascades,elaborate cornices, tie-backs, etc.
