These writings are meant to be truthful, but they aretoo rambling and egotistical to possess much historicalvalue. Few subjects are treated of except such as thewriter was personally connected with or in which he felta special interest. Much that he was tempted to writehas been omitted out of consideration for the living andthe dead and their relations.
The book will have little interest except for those whoknow something of El Paso or of the men and eventstreated of, or of the writer himself.
For such only is it written.
