Preface
There is need of a textbook for beginners in Bible study. This book isintended to meet that long-felt want. The subject matter is arrangedprogressively and orderly. A list of questions follows each pointdiscussed, thus enabling the teacher to direct the mind of the studentto the subject under consideration. The numeral following each questionrefers to the paragraph of the text where the answer may be found, eachparagraph being numbered to correspond.
Jehovah had a great plan before the foundation of the world; but no oneknew about it. During the first four thousand years of man's historyGod's plan was kept a secret. He began to reveal it to man nearlynineteen hundred years ago, and then only to those who are consecratedto do his will. Promise was made that greater light should come at theend of the age, and this promise has been kept. We are at that time, asis clearly proven by the contents herein. This book points out thesalient features of the divine plan, which plan is both orderly andprogressive.
People generally have not been thoroughly instructed in the Bible. Eventhose who have attended the Sunday schools have merely learned the textand not the meaning of the text. Like the prophets of old, they haveheard but understood not. The real reason for these conditions is thatGod's plan could not be understood until his due time to reveal it. Hisdue time is here.
Because of the dispensational change taking place at this time, Biblestudy was never so important as now. If important to educate the risinggeneration in the things taught in our common schools, with strongerreasoning is it important to educate them concerning that which is nowbeing revealed of the divine program for the uplifting and blessing ofmankind.
There is no disposition, desire, nor attempt to induce any one readingthis book to become a member of any organization, sect, or denomination.The sole purpose of the book is to aid honest seekers for truth intheir endeavors to understand the Bible, to learn the meaning of thepresent-day events, and to prepare some at least to receive theblessings that are soon due to mankind.
